Transducer Protector / Filter ( T-Guard)

Transducer Protector / Filter ( T-Guard)

A transducer protector/filter (T-Guard) is a small, disposable device designed to safeguard invasive blood pressure monitoring systems and other medical equipment from contamination and fluid ingress. It is typically placed between the patient's arterial line and the pressure monitoring system to filter out air bubbles, particulate matter, and microbial contaminants that could compromise accurate pressure readings or cause infections.

1. Efficient Filter
2. PTFE Membrane
3. 0.05 Um Accuracy
4. Smallest Size Packing
5. Efficient Filter for Blood Transfusion

An Optimum Compromise between competting  Factors, where a balance between  :
a). Flexibility & firmness.
b). Softness and anti kinking.
c). Material and durability.
d). Size and flow.

  • Infection Control: Reduces the risk of infection by preventing microbial contamination through the arterial line.
  • Accuracy: Maintains the accuracy of pressure readings by filtering out air bubbles and particulate matter that could interfere with transducer function.
  • Extended Equipment Life: Prolongs the lifespan of transducers and pressure monitoring systems by protecting them from damage caused by fluid ingress.
  • Hydrophobic Membrane: Prevents fluids from entering the pressure monitoring system while allowing the transmission of pressure waves.
  • Disposable Design: Typically intended for single-use to maintain sterility and prevent cross-contamination.
  • Easy Integration: Features standardized connectors for seamless integration into existing arterial lines and monitoring setups.

How it Works:

  • Setup: Connects between the patient's arterial line and the transducer of the pressure monitoring system.
  • Filtration: Filters out air bubbles and contaminants from the arterial blood before they reach the transducer.
  • Monitoring: Allows accurate measurement and monitoring of blood pressure and other physiological parameters without interference.
  • Material: Constructed from biocompatible materials such as hydrophobic membranes and sterile housing.
  • Compatibility: Designed to fit standard arterial lines and pressure monitoring systems used in various medical procedures.
  • Filtration Efficiency: Filters air bubbles down to a specified micron size, ensuring reliable performance.

Applications:

  • Critical Care: Used in intensive care units (ICUs), operating rooms, and other clinical settings where accurate and reliable blood pressure monitoring is essential.
  • Anesthesia: Ensures precise monitoring during anesthesia administration and surgical procedures.
